New Driveways in Esher, Guildford and all Locations in the South East Area Including Ascot
Have a new driveway installed by our combined building and landscaping company, and benefit from a stylish off-road parking space that will boost your home’s curb appeal and add to its resale value. Instead of having to leave your car on the roadside, where it could be at risk to accidental or malicious damage, you can park it on a surface laid in a premium material and potentially save money on your annual insurance outgoings.

The New Driveway Installation Process
Because your driveway will be laid by a professional hard landscaping team with many years of experience, installation standards always remain high. To begin a project, MK General Building clears the workspace of old surfaces, or of scrub and vegetation to pave the way for further development. After we have marked out the position for your new driveway, our company uses plant and machinery to bulk excavate to specific depths for the material chosen.
After clearing and removing uplifted spoil, we create a suitable sub-base for stability using aggregates and sands, compacting in layers for firmness.
The edge restraints are added, if required, and our landscaping company will lay the top surface in line with manufacturer specifications. You can have new driveways laid in a range of patterns and permutations based on which material you have selected, and block paving is one of the most attractive surfacing choices because of its design flexibility and attractive shading.
After compacting the surface one last time, we point between any gaps and tidy up after ourselves before providing a walkthrough of the finished work. At this point, we will explain how long you need to leave your new driveway to settle before you can start using it as a parking space for your vehicles.
Materials for New Driveways
We treat clients from Ascot, Esher, Guildford and the surrounding areas as the most important part of our business, and our company wants them to have an input into the design phase of an installation project so that we can lay a driveway that fulfils their practical needs and their aesthetic choices. If you would like to see one of our previous installations in your own area, please let us know and we will do whatever we can to take you to a former site.
Alternatively, we have finished projects available to view on our website.
Have new driveways laid in the following materials:
Block Paving
This is one of the most attractive, versatile and high-end material choices for a driveway. Block paving is a composite material with a wealth of design permutations and by working from several open packs at a time, any subtle variations in shade won’t impact the appearance of a finished installation.
Importantly, block paving units uplift individually for easy replacement in the event of damage, or if underground utility works are required in the future.
Concrete
For those on a budget, concrete is an excellent choice and one that lays as a continuous surface. Advancements in technology now allow us to add dye to the concrete mix in a specific colour and to use mats that imprint textures onto the surface which can replicate brick, cobbles, stone and even wood.
This is a durable surfacing material that can also be laid in traditional grey.
Gravel
This is another cost-effective choice for new driveway installations, and it is an especially popular option for those with country properties or homeowners who want a more traditional aesthetic. Easy to install, and with only a minimal amount of maintenance needed, gravel is also a key environmental choice.
Gravel comes in many different colours, so flexibility in design won’t become a problem, and a crunching underfoot sound adds a layer of security.
Natural Stone
For dynamic new driveway installations with intricate patterns which are 100% unique, opt for a natural stone such as granite, limestone, classic sandstone, Indian sandstone or slate. Sourced for their colour, texture and character but always from responsible quarries, these slabs are a premium product choice.
Naturally textured surfaces make natural stones safe and slip resistant.
